Meet the Owner Behind TACKLE

Hi, I’m Earl Kiser – founder of TACKLE Pontoon Rentals and a proud 5th-generation resident of the Sherrills Ford–Terrell, NC community. I’ve lived on Lake Norman my entire life, and I’ve spent decades boating, skiing, and enjoying the lake with family and friends.

I started this company to help more families afford an incredible day on Lake Norman. We refurbish our own pontoons to offer high-quality, luxury-style rentals at a lower price point. From Bluetooth stereos and LED lights to plush seating and pet-friendly policies, we’ve thought of everything.

A Few Things About Me

  • Co-founder of the UNC Charlotte waterski team (1989)

  • Multiple state championships in competitive ski jumping

  • Married 31 years to my wife Cheryl, with 3 sons, daughters-in-law, and 2 grandbabies

  • UNC Charlotte graduate with a BS in Engineering

  • Active member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church

  • Former 5-year member of the Lake Norman Marine Commission
